How do we contact you with our wedding photography enquiry?
I’m flexible around your preferred communication style, so happy to interact with you by telephone, email or via the contact form on my website. Also happy for a face to face interaction if required.
Do you offer bespoke packages?
Yes I like to tailor to your individual wedding photography preferences. I have three photography coverage levels: 1/2 day, 3/4 day and full day. There’s also a fourth option that includes a luxury handcrafted wedding album. I then also offer a diverse range of handcrafted luxury wedding photography products. Prices will be based on your individual choices. For a general guide please see the ‘Prices’ tab on my website. What is the booking process?
Once you’ve decided you want to book me as your wedding photographer, the booking process involves completion of an initial order form and a £300 deposit payment. Once I have received both of these your wedding date will be securely booked in. I will then meet up with you 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding day to discuss the finer details of your wedding day.
Do you offer a discount for midweek weddings?
I happily offer discounts for midweek weddings on full day photography coverage (Monday-Thursday).
How soon do we need to make the booking?
If you can I would always recommend trying to book at least 6-12 months in advance of your wedding day. Ideally I would recommend booking your wedding photography 12-24 months in advance of your wedding day to ensure availability and to avoid disappointment.
Do you have insurance?
Yes I am a fully insured professional photographer. I have public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance and all of my photography equipment is also fully insured.
Do you travel for weddings?
I am more than happy to travel for your wedding. I am based in Lancashire and regularly photograph weddings in Liverpool, Cheshire, Manchester and the Lake District. I am happy to travel throughout the UK. I also cover destination weddings. Accommodation costs may need to be added if weddings are outside of the North West of England, but not always necessary. How do you photograph couples on their wedding day?
On the actual wedding day I like to follow the natural flow of your wedding, working in a natural, relaxed and unobtrusive way, so you can enjoy your day. For the majority of the day you will hardly notice me. I would always recommend time for a little fun and free-spirited portraiture, but not compulsory, it’s your day. I generally like to use natural light as much as possible and occasionally may need to use flash.
What photography equipment do you use?
I have always used professional level Canon cameras and lenses. I also have backups for all pieces of photography equipment.
How many wedding photographs will we receive?
Every wedding is different so it’s difficult to stipulate exactly. The number of wedding photographs largely depends on the details of the wedding: the number of wedding venues, number of guests, level of wedding photography coverage. For full day photography coverage a low estimate would be 500 high quality images. However I never limit the amount of photographs you receive, so depending on the details of the wedding day can be much higher than this.
How long will it take to receive our wedding photographs?
Photography coverage levels that include a complimentary USB gift-box, will usually be with you within 3 months of your wedding day. If you request wedding albums, as they are individually designed and handcrafted, these take a little longer, usually with you within 5 months. I will always send you a small sample of wedding photographs within 72 hours of your wedding day.
What do you recommend if it’s raining on our wedding day?
Waterproofs and wellies (joking). Just an open mind to embrace whatever the weather is doing. You will always receive great photographs no matter what the weather is doing. I also have various lighting equipment if required indoors.
What happens if you are unwell on our wedding day?
So far I have never missed a wedding! I would have to be seriously unwell not to attend your wedding day. If due to an unavoidable circumstance I wasn’t able to attend, I have a network of professional photographers who would be able to stand in for me at short notice.
How did you get into wedding photography?
About 11 years ago I bought my first professional level camera. The same year my brother asked me to photograph his wedding in Tuscany (cheeky haha). The rest just snowballed from there really, studio, sports and wedding photography experience and gained a professional photography qualification with NYIP. I now shoot solely weddings and have done so for the last few years.
Do you work alone or with a second photographer?
It depends on the wedding. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a second wedding photographer if required. For really large weddings I would usually have a second photographer with me.
Do you have any helpful tips for choosing a wedding photographer?
It may sound obvious but just focus solely on the quality of the wedding photographs. Are the photographs sharp, colourful and well exposed? Can you see the clouds in the sky and the details in the dress? Prioritize this ahead of ‘hype’ and venue recommendations. Look for photographs from real weddings, throughout a wedding day, with real bride and groom’s and their wedding guests, not just ‘couple’ photoshoots with models.
